It may come as a surprise to many of you but success isn’t necessarily tied to a lot of activity. It has been my belief that a great sponsor assists you in getting out of your own way and letting your innate abilities shine. Of course to do that successfully they have to have a strategy that works and then gently point you in the right direction. As a manager of your resources they can’t manage what they can’t measure right? So a great sponsor will:

1. Have you set goals that align with a proven successful and repeatable strategy
2. Assist you in monitoring your activities against those goals

This is the bare minimum that a sponsor should do for you. If they have a successful strategy they should also be able to make you more efficient in the completion of activities that are moving you toward your goal. That’s where training comes into play.

Does your sponsor help train you? For example we instruct our team to make two exposures each and every day at a bare minimum. But we don’t stop there. If you are not aware of how to do this properly or to the wrong people then you are wasting time and not moving in the direction of your goals.
